Community Theatre on the South Shore of Nova Scotia!

The South Shore Players has been presenting major theatrical productions in Lunenburg County since 1993.

Typically, two plays a year are produced.  One, often for more mature audiences, is held in the spring.  A second, family-oriented play is presented, sometimes in British-style pantomime, during the pre-Christmas season.

PRODUCTION – The Prince and the Golden Egg

Tickets are now on sale for the South Shore Players’ 2017 family musical production of The Prince and the Golden Egg being held June 3 & 4, 2017 at the Central United Church Hall in Lunenburg.

Show Info: As this play is geared toward children and families, it contains lots of silliness and loads of music. It is approximately one hour long, making it a perfect introduction to live theatre for audiences with young children.

Please refer to the poster below for more details or click on it to purchase tickets. We hope to see you there!

For Musicals, Non-Musicals, Full-Length Shows and Shorts

The South Shore Players produce approximately five shows per year including musicals, non-musicals, full-length productions and shorts. We are looking for both new and experienced Directors and Stage Managers to join our team!

Directors – If you are new to directing, we offer an apprentice-director program where you will have the opportunity to shadow and work with an experienced Director. If you are an experienced Director, please provide us with the following information:

  1. Do you prefer to direct musicals, non-musicals or are you open to directing either?
  2. What is your directing experience? (i.e. approximately how many shows have your directed over how many years).

Stage Managers – If you are new to stage managing, you are encouraged to learn this role by acting as an Assistant Stage Manager for one of our productions.  Alternatively, we are currently offering a Stage Management Workshop.  If you are an experienced Stage Manager, please provide a brief synopsis of your experience including the size crew with which you are comfortable working.

More Info – If you are interested in becoming a Director and/or a Stage Manager with the South Shore Players, please contact our Artistic Director, Colleen Hagen, at
